The practice has participated in several community health fairs in recent months in an effort to increase public awareness of such retina-related conditions as diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. RGW took part in a health fair held in conjunction with the 75^th anniversary of District Heights, the “Total Health” event in Silver Spring and the Bowie Health Fair put on by the Bowie Health Center Foundation. Most of the events offer the opportunity to conduct free basic eye screenings, answer questions, distribute informational material and schedule appointments at the nearest RGW office.
